On the 3rd, at GS Retail headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Godaseul's dessert team manager (35) met with Money Today and said he diagnosed the trend of the convenience store food market this way. The 'Minumsa Bread' planned and launched last month by Manager Ko started with these concerns. Minumsa Bread, a collaboration with publisher Minumsa and the character IP Today's Cuteness, became a hit product with daily sales of 100 million won through packaging and bookmarks featuring literary works and characters. On the 21st of last month , cumulative sales surpassed 430,000 units by the 2nd of this month, and the initial supply was sold out within a week. When bookmarks shaped like book covers sparked the desire to collect, causing shortages, secondhand trading communities began selling them for 10,000~50,000 won. There were also cases of people selling them for 10,000~50,000 won   . He noted that while collaborative products featuring idols or characters are gaining popularity, consumption often centers around fandoms. Manager Ko is very interested in the growing culture of consuming what people love regardless of age, not just simple character consumption. He said that while convenience store products in the past competed on price, taste, and convenience, now they must also reflect how consumers respond to certain cultures.
