Yong Hye-in, nominee for Minister of Gender Equality and Family, stepped down from her candidacy on the 13th, and amid ongoing controversy over her dual proportional representation and ministerial positions, the Democratic Party has repeatedly pressured her to decide on her position by citing the 'public expectations,' and Yong ultimately chose to resign just two weeks after her nomination. She said she received direct instructions regarding her future from the Democratic Party, saying, "While the Democratic Party respects the situations faced by the candidate and the Basic Income Party, considering the limited public consensus on holding both proportional representation and ministerial positions, the candidate has been asked to make a decision." The Democratic Party has reportedly been gradually increasing the level of its messages toward candidate Yong recently,  Leader Kim Min-seok said, "We respect the voices and judgments of the people as they are," and added, "We will view them with utmost sincerity from the perspective of the people." On the 11th, the Democratic Party stated, "We are actively gathering opinions from inside and outside the party," and added, "The president's personnel authority   Rather than directly bringing it up, the atmosphere leaned toward the idea that Yong himself should make the decision." Yong said that this ruling party atmosphere influenced his decision to resign, saying, "Cabinet committee members must organically connect the National Assembly and the government and foster cooperation," adding, "However, given that the ruling party has expressed concerns, I judged that it is realistically difficult to carry out that position." Jang Dong-hyuk is saying that the ministerial nominee will end things and that he should step down from his position as a National Assembly member at this time,,, so instead of telling others to step down,,, you should step down quickly!!!!!!
