On the 22nd, the Ministry of Education announced at a cabinet meeting, "From October 1, it is prohibited to take exams to select young children or divide them into classes by level at academies and similar institutions, and not only written and interview tests but also evaluations using test results or career data that verify specific abilities are prohibited." The amendment specifies the scope of prohibitions on selection exams for young children, known as the '4-year-old and 7-year-old exams,' and operators of academies and tutoring centers, as well as private tutors , cannot conduct exams or assessments using written, oral, practical, or interview methods for recruiting children or assigning classes by level. Even if the child does not take the exam directly, using test results related to the verification of specific abilities or career data for   evaluation is also prohibited. Acts of evaluating the evaluation are also prohibited, and in addition, tests or evaluations that rank the level of specific abilities for recruitment or placement by level are also included in the prohibited categories. However, after a child registers at an academy or begins private tutoring , Observational and interview-based diagnoses conducted to support educational activities are exceptionally permitted,,,, In such cases, guardians must be informed about the purpose of the diagnosis and the content of educational support based on the results, and prior consent must be obtained either in writing or electronically. Diagnoses must be conducted during lessons, and the results must describe the child's learning progress and what needs support. Scores, rankings, or pass/fail cannot be displayed.  The obligation to report to private tutors and tutoring centers for young children will also apply. Starting from the 1st of next month, as children are included in the private tutoring category under the Private Academy Act, any private tutor or tutoring center operator wishing to tutor a child must report to the relevant education office.
