According to the current unification awareness survey conducted by Seoul National University's Institute for Unification and Peace Research on the 27th, 39.1% of respondents said 'unification is impossible' when unification is possible, the highest since related surveys began in 2007. When asked about their views on unification, 31.5% said they prefer the current situation, which is also the highest level since the survey began, while 28.8% answered 'not necessary' when asked about the necessity of unification. This is an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous year. Negative perceptions of North Korea also reached an all-time high, with responses indicating that North Korea's possession of nuclear weapons threatened (86.4%) and that dialogue and compromise with the regime are impossible (78.3   %). It was said to be the highest since then. Paradoxically, 83.3% said the North Korean regime would not want reunification, the highest ever, meaning dialogue and compromise are impossible, and even if possible, it would be negative about unification. Regarding North Korea's national identity , most respondents view it as both illegal and independent. When asked whether South Korea and North Korea are 'independent and separate countries,' 81.1% answered 'yes.' Distrust in the U.S. also increased, with 76.4% viewing the U.S. as a partner for two consecutive years and the lowest since 2012, and 61.2% expected the U.S. would help South Korea in the event of a Korean war, the lowest since 2009.  The U.S. is advocating a U.S.-first stance, ??? would have demanded 'money' in exchange for helping Korea, but ultimately, the right answer is to resolve its own defense on its own!!!!!
