Ha Tae-kyung: "Asian Games gold medal benefits should be eliminated,,,,,,,,,especially for baseball"

As the Korean baseball team has won gold medals at the Asian Games for the fifth consecutive time, Ha Tae-kyung, former People Power Party lawmaker and current director of the Insurance Research and Training Institute, said on the 28th, "During my time at the National Assembly's National Defense Committee, I worked to reduce military benefits for the arts and sports sectors," and added, "Among them, the military privilege system for Asian Games gold medals should be abolished." He continued, "Especially in baseball, it is a classic case of unfair competition. We are the only professional team; other countries are amateur teams," and pointed out, "Our professional teams participate in the Asian Games because of military exemption benefits, but other countries do not have those benefits, so they skip the pro league and therefore do not participate in the Asian Games." He continued, "Korea is now a global nation, yet a country like this is number one in Asia and gives military benefits  is ridiculous. The preferential treatment system for Asian Games gold medals should be abolished," he emphasized repeatedly. The reason former lawmaker Ha made this claim was due to controversy over the Korean national team's player composition and performance at this tournament,   Korea had assembled a team of elite professional players under 24, but on the 25th, they suffered a crushing 0-5 defeat to Japan, whose team was composed entirely of amateur baseball players. Afterwards, Korea faced Japan again in the final and defeated them 3-1 to win the gold medal, but there were cold reactions such as, "If it weren't for the starting pitcher, we would have lost again," and "There's no reason to be proud just because we barely won gold against an amateur team." In fact, countless professional players from Japan There were so many moments of struggles against amateurs, and even if you only counted the pros and cons in those two matches,,, Korea was behind so 16 people received military service benefits, so the public couldn't help but be angry!! No Si-hwan said something shameless again,,, The process isn't important, it's the result!!!!!!
